I’m Benjamin Waggoner. Joel Reese is my business partner. We’ve been friends for over twenty years now, and CallWatch AI is the newest thing we’ve built together.

It started in church, honestly. Back in 2003, my wife and I became youth pastors at Nixa Assembly of God in Missouri. Folks know it as Thrive Church today. For four years we mentored teenagers, led worship, did all of it. Joel and I played music together in those days. Guitar for me, drums for him. We weren’t trying to build some empire. We just wanted to honor God with what we had in our hands.

Something from those years stuck with me. Trust, for one. You learn fast who you can count on when you’re hauling gear at six in the morning on a Sunday. And integrity. Not the word on the wall. The real kind. The kind that decides things when nobody’s watching. That’s followed us into every business since.

The road here

Fifteen years of starting things. Solving problems. A few of those taught me lessons I use every single day.

First there was Christmas Lights Installed. My holiday lighting company. We used software to design the whole house on a screen before anyone climbed a ladder. The customer saw the finished look. Knew the price upfront. No surprises. I sold that business eventually.

Then Joel and I built Double My Smile. An app that doubled Amazon Smile donations for nonprofits. It got recognized as a top one percent business idea. Big nonprofits came calling. And then Amazon killed the program. Overnight. Gone. Hurt like crazy. But it taught us the biggest lesson we’ve ever learned. Own your platform. Don’t build your future on somebody else’s land.

I also put in time at Petroli Roofing in Colorado Springs. My father-in-law’s world. One of the biggest roofing companies around there. I became their top salesman. Insurance consulting. Storm damage assessments. Property manager relationships. That’s where I learned how small businesses really run. The phones ringing off the hook. The chaos. And the jobs that just vanish. Because nobody picked up.

Every one of those came back to the same thing. I like fixing problems. I like building tools that make somebody’s day easier.

Why CallWatch AI exists

Joel and I have been working with AI language models since 2022. Years now. We’ve helped build software and AI tools for small businesses. And we kept seeing the same problem everywhere we looked.

The phone. Small businesses were losing customers on the phone. Calls going to voicemail. Leads slipping through. Good, hardworking people missing real opportunities. Just because there weren’t enough hands.

So we built CallWatch AI. It’s an AI receptionist. It answers calls day and night using the information you’ve approved. We chose premium voices to make the conversation feel natural. It answers questions, can send your booking link so people can schedule, and can transfer calls according to your instructions. It captures leads while you sleep. And here’s the part I insisted on: when it doesn’t know something, it’s instructed not to fake it. It can take a message so your team can follow up.

This time we’re building a platform we own and can keep improving. That’s the Double My Smile lesson, right there in the foundation. We’re building for the long haul, for the businesses, churches, and organizations that put their trust in us.

We’re a faith-based company. Honoring God comes first. That’s the foundation. It’s why we treat every client the way we’d want to be treated ourselves.

And we do the work ourselves. Our first hundred clients get the whole setup done for them. Free. We learn your business or organization. We configure your receptionist. We stay close until you’re rolling. After those hundred, that setup becomes a paid service. So getting in early actually matters.
